However, to my surprise I had a group full of high schoolers that were very insightful and had a lot to say.  We thought the kids would not be interested in trying to discuss what was going on wrong around or in their community, but they did and they had a lot to say and even put together their own skit basically addressing their own issues and problems.  When we got all the groups together I was surprised to see that everyone’s group was full of children that had a lot to say.  This experience was not only exciting it showed me with a little patience and understanding I can help release the voice of children younger than me.  The problem isn’t that they don’t have anything to say, the problem is that they don’t know how to say it.  If more people my age and older just listen we might have not had so many problems out of the youth today.  This is an idea that I will carry with me throughout my life and I will be able to hear the voices of my peers and youth and be able to help them be heard!

I have previously written a book of my own, but I was afraid of getting it published because I was so young at the time with an outlook on life of an adult.  Now that I see that she made it through and still wants to write despite what people may say or think about it, it influences me to do the same!  I already write and I am not afraid of getting my views out there but now I have made a commitment with myself to write everyday about everything and one day I could get  my journal or book published and be able to warn or notify my fellow peers about the world and what is out there before they have to deal with it themselves.  Then my story could possibly be read by people younger than me and they can then know that their parents aren’t just telling them things that that is really how the world is and that they should be aware of it! Through this not only is my voice heard my purpose is made as well!

This shows that she is growing and maturing.  Some people voice their opinion in different ways, but Waukesha’s is to write and through her book filled with her opinion and views we know her story.
